East Sandwich, Massachusetts
From your TAN vacation home at 183 North Shore Boulevard, enjoy the charm of this New England hamlet. Sandwich is the oldest town on Cape Cod (Inc. 1639) and is known as The Museum Town. It's a seaside community of about 22,000 residents, located on the Cape's northwest corner, in Barnstable County (Upper Cape).
These TAN cottages are each equipped with a kitchen, microwave, television, VCR and telephone. During the day, have a family lunch next to the waves on your private beach—from this home property, there are no streets to cross to the shore!
Quaint and quiet is how locals describe Sandwich. Our Travelers enjoy the non-congested Town Neck Beach on Cape Cod Bay, and exploring unique museums, shops and historic sites, such as The Heritage Plantation and Gardens and Dexter Grist Mill. Newer "historic" sites include Sandwich's boardwalk, which was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Bob in 1991, but the town rebuilt it by securing sponsors for 1700 unique, personalized boardwalk planks.
It may seem like a sleepy town, but Sandwich (appropriately) boasts excellent restaurants with a variety of fare, from fresh Cape Cod seafood to contemporary Italian cuisine. Golf, play tennis, bike, or hike - here, Travelers may do as much or as little as they desire.
