During the winter there are two ski areas, each with very different atmospheres. Up the road is SolVista, a family friendly and affordable ski area for a light hearted day of skiing. If you are looking for more of a ski-challenge and a world-class skiing atmosphere go to Winter Park only a short drive up the valley. Either way, you can warm up at the end of the day at the natural Hot Sulphur Springs only 5 minutes down the road from Granby. For a day away from skiing you can observe nature by going on a snowmobiling excursion to the Continental Divide or take a sleigh ride with the family.

For year-round fun, there are several public golf courses nearby, including Pole Creek, which was rated the number one public course in 1985. For fishing enthusiasts, drop a line in the Fraser River, which runs adjacent to the resort. Kicking Horse is surrounded by 100s of miles of hiking and biking trails and is just 18 miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and 90 minutes from Denver.
